BC Artistic Swimming supports and aligns all program delivery with the Canada Artistic Swimming Long-Term Athlete Development Framework 2.1. The LTAD Framework 2.1 introduces physical literacy and athlete development in artistic swimming at all levels from entry level to Sync for Life. It serves as the fundamental operational manual that underpins the structure and programming for our sport in BC and across Canada.

Professional Development Inventory
January 2020 was the start of a new NCCP PD Points cycle so all coaches need to start accumulating new PD points to maintain certification. To help, BCAS has compiled a PD Inventory creating a one-stop shop to find and access development opportunities that have shared over the course of the last year. The list outlines the specific activities, the number of PD points available, the cost, and a link to the resources. Be sure to check into The Locker to check what you’ve learned to date and what may need renewal or re-certification

BC Artistic Swimming's new High Performance Coach Mentorship Program aims to develop the next generation of high-performance coaches in BC. This program will support coaches by nurturing the technical, tactical, and psycho-social skills needed to develop future high-performance athletes.
Led by world-renown artistic swimming coach, Biz Price, the HP Coach Mentorship Program will create a collaborative and reciprocal learning environment that focuses on identifying and achieving mutually defined goals for the continued development of skills, abilities, knowledge, leadership, and critical thinking. Coaches will learn to take ownership of their personal and professional growth with a clear understanding of "what it takes to win" at the provincial, national, and international levels.
Participant coaches and their home clubs will benefit from BCAS' investment in BC coaches as the coaches will apply their leadership and coaching style in the club setting, while BCAS' Ignite Provincial Program will gain access to the next generation of high performance leaders.
Six to eight coaches will be selected to the program that begins in September 2021. BCAS will develop a long-list of candidates in consultations with club head coaches. Candidates will then be invited to apply to the program. A selection process will include a review of the applications and a short interview.
Effective mentoring depends on a reciprocal relationship between the mentee and a more experienced mentor. Together, they form a partnership to work together on achieving mutually defined goals that focus on the continued development of skills, abilities, knowledge and critical thinking.
If you are looking to take ownership of your personal and professional development, this may be your opportunity to exercise growth through a relationship with a mentor and to create a trustworthy resources/consult for advice.
For more information or to submit your interest in the program, please contact hpd@bcartisticswimming.ca. Candidates will be contacted with more information about the application process.

Since then, the program has evolved based on feedback from members and is today known as the Regional Sport Services Program. To learn more, please click here .
