Artistic Swimming combines the technical skills of swimming with the grace and artistry of dance and gymnastics. Formerly known as synchronized swimming and an Olympic sport for over 40 years, it challenges athletes to showcase exceptional coordination, strength, and grace while performing choreographed routines in the water. Whether new to the sport or a seasoned athlete, Artistic Swimming in BC offers a welcoming space and rewarding experience for all.
Programs are offered for all ages and abilities through our 15 member clubs across the province. Whether new to artistic swimming or an experienced swimmer, programs foster teamwork, friendships and confidence.

What swimming ability is needed?
To participate in artistic swimming, athletes must meet minimum swimming standards that include being comfortable in deep water without support. However, artistic swimming clubs also offer an introduction to swimming and artistic swimming skills called AquaGO! that can help younger or less experienced swimmers to achieve the skills necessary to participate in artistic swimming.
What are the fees to participate?

The time commitment varies by club and by program and range from 2-4 hours per week for introductory or recreation programs to 20 hours per week for our most competitive athletes who are on the high-performance pathway.
