We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and a great start to the new year. At viaSport, we're excited to continue uniting leaders to champion change and develop inclusive, quality sport across the province in 2018.

As you know, viaSport hosted a significant number of partner education sessions in 2017 to develop your knowledge, skills and capacity for adopting effective practices and to strengthen your organizational readiness and excellence. For those that missed these sessions, stay tuned for our CEO Highlights update next week  <<<HERE>>>  featuring lessons from each session and our plans for building upon this foundation.

Improve your negotiation skills

Negotiations are a common occurrence between administrators, athletes, coaches and officials in sport. Unfortunately, more often than not, relationship preservation is pushed to the sidelines when emotionally-charged parties face each other in a conflict.

Learn the best practices to de-escalate conflicts and preserve relationships in sport through interactive scenario analyses and mock negotiations in this free workshop presented by the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC).

Register for Negotiation Skills happening next Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

Following this session, viaSport and the SDRCC will present on a pilot project that they are working on together which will develop a pool of law students to assist sport organizations in dealing with disputes.

Enhance your leadership ability

"The key to success is dedication to life-long learning."

Ring in the new year by enhancing your leadership skills at the BC Sport Leadership Conference happening on January 14, 2018. This fantastic professional development opportunity will bring together a diverse collection of leaders in sport to learn, connect, apply and grow.
